Michael Schneider considers himself a musician in a broad sense:

Through his activities with La Stagione Frankfurt Michael Schneider has won a growing international reputation as conductor. That’s why he is invited as guest-conductor by other baroque-orchestras as well as “modern” symphonic orchestras for concert, oratorio- and opera performances.
In these programs he often appears also as a soloist on the recorder, i.e with Telemann’s a-minor suite or virtuosic recorder-concertos by Vivaldi, Fasch, Sammartini and Telemann.
As specialist for performance practice with period-orchestras he also likes to work with traditionally trained instrumentalists and singers in order to transfer the achievements of Historical Performance practice.
He appeared as guest-conductor in many opera houses and festivals with works by Monteverdi, Handel, Hasse and Telemann and A. Scarlatti.
Performing regularly with well-known vocal and instrumental soloists, The invitations to important European festivals and concert venues as well as the more than 45 highly regarded recordings attest his high reputation as conductor.
